K, so once upon a time, I saw this beautiful entryway table on Pinterest. It was a lovely turquoise blue with black and silver lamps. It was so pretty, and I wished and wished and wished for a pretty entryway, too. Just kidding, I wished for a million dollars and more wishes. And then I wished and wished and wished for a pretty entryway.
Because in my entryway was this sad and boring table – well, desk actually – that I picked up at a garage sale. The price was $10, but all I had was $6.24 on me (that’s after I searched through the whole car for change). This desk was rickety and brown and scratched up and pretty much about to fall over. I wouldn’t let anyone touch it. “It’s for looks only…” I’d say. If only it had “looks.”
So I painted my bedroom the most bestest color ever…North Sea Green. And I loved the color so much that I wanted to lick my walls. And I had lots of paint leftover. And my little sad table cried out for some NSG love. And I said, “Okay, sweetie, you can have some pretty paint, too.”
I even put it on Instagram.
And I tightened up the rickety and scary parts. And no one got hurt. And the table was so happy to be so beautiful.
I dolled her up with accessories – including some chrome sea shells.
A sad metal tray also wanted attention. This poor guy was sitting by someone’s curb, waiting to be snatched up on abnormal trash day.
He got a bath and a little chrome spray paint love like his friends, the seashells.
And everyone was happy, including me. Because my wish came true: now I have a pretty entryway instead of an ugly one. And I didn’t need to spend my million dollars to get it.
