K, so y’all know that my favorite thing to talk about is living a stylish life without the expensive pricetag. I can’t stand paying full price for something when I can get the same thing for less. That’s the way I’ve always been – that’s how I’ll always be. So I recently heard that Alberto VO5 just came out with their own Salon Series, and I wondered if it really is as good as salon products. The VO5 peeps invited me to a luncheon last week here in Austin (at The W Hotel – SO coo! I WILL stay there one day!) to introduce some of their new products. And! They are trying to find a new fragrance, and we get to help them pick! More on that in a sec.
So the day of the luncheon was literally freezing (like ice on the roads), but I braved my way downtown because 1. I had a babysitter, and I wasn’t passing that up! and 2. I really really wanted to see The W Hotel and 3. I really really really wanted to try these new Salon Series products. Y’all, it was so fun! We had a yummy lunch…
And I got to hang out with some of my blog friends (like my cute friend Jamie from C.R.A.F.T!).
And one of the things that literally blew my mind is that some of the hair products I love are made just as well, and cost less, if I get the VO5 version. For example, I just ran out of my $22 Anti-Frizz product. I know, choke. I hate spending that much, so I’ve been holding out on buying more. But the new Salon Series has their own version that’s 5 bucks. No joke. Whoohoo!! They are available in grocery stores and online, so extra errands to run and stops to make.
Plus, the ingredients in these products are 100% natural – all words I had heard of and could pronounce. I thought that was pretty cool.
So the VO5 peeps are creating a new fragrance, and they want our help to pick it out. They are testing out different scents in a few cities, and we got to test the fruity options.
Scent #1 smells sweet, happy, and a little bit tangy. It reminded me of a bowl of juicy berries. I called it “Raspberry Kisses.”
Scent #2 smells fresh, clean, energizing. Hints of coconut and calm florals remind me of the beach, but it also has a fresh squeezed citrus smell. It reminded me of a “Tropical Morning.” (This was MY favorite scent.)
Scent #3 is a fruity, candy-like scent with a hint of sophistication. There is a “tropical smoothie” creaminess to it but more floral than Scent #1. This fragrance reminds me of a “Spa day with my niece.” (This was The Hubs’s favorite scent.)
So which scent would you prefer? Which one would you want to wash your hair with? They all smell so great for sure, but there can only be one! Help us pick! Vote here:
